Shark Diving, Port Lincoln
South Australia is the ideal location for scuba diving with Great White Sharks.
The live-aboard shark scuba diving adventure departs mainly from Port Lincoln (a
few departs also from Adelaide) and heads
out into the clear blue waters of the Southern Ocean to the Neptune Islands.
Here you will see an array of wildlife, including many bird species, dolphins, thousands
of fur seals, and the beautiful and rare Australian sea lion.
But the main attraction is the Great White Shark cage diving. South Australia is
one of the few locations worldwide that offers this incredible adventure
The area is the natural feeding ground of the Great White Shark, which makes it
a fantastic scuba diving experience.

Great White Shark Diving with Rodney Fox and Andrew Fox
The best Great White Shark scuba dives are lead by Rodney Fox and his son Andrew
Fox, who are the world's leading exponent of Great White Shark scuba diving expeditions.
They have led over 200 expeditions and been involved in 62 major Great White Shark
film documentaries.
So you can be sure that the team has an incredible knowledge of these creatures
and have designed these expeditions and the purpose specific shark proof cages for
viewing the Great Whites off the coast of South Australia.
If you join the shark scuba diving expedition during the recognized “high activity season”
(around February), you will maximize your opportunities to sight Great White Sharks
and can confidently expect good shark activity on most, if not every day of your
tour. But the period from late May through to October can also be great.
Once on location you will start cage diving in the surface cages and submersible
cage dives usually wait until the second day down to the bottom below. You can stay
in the cage as long as you wish.
There is also plenty of time just to relax, get involved in our research programs,
or just enjoy the shark action topside. The activities also revolve around the shark
activity, the shore parties, mealtimes and special talks.
After dinner and the special talks, the nights are free to stargaze, view the video
and pictures, and story telling. The ship generally stays on location during the
day, and usually only move location during the night to give maximum daytime productivity.

Both scuba divers and non-scuba divers can do the expedition. If you are not a certified
scuba diver, you just stay in the surface cage.

Of course you have to pay a lot more money on the usual one-day dive tours in South
Africa or on a aquarium shark dive (where you of course can not see Great White
Sharks) – but you will the sure to get the experience of your life on the Great
White Shark diving expedition.
Because of the popularity of the shark scuba diving expeditions, you should book very
well in advance.
Comments from satisfied divers:
You can book the trips through the very well-recommended action company “Adrenalin”.
