Shark Diving, Melbourne
If you like to try a shark dive, Melbourne is (like e.g.
Sydney) another great destination for aquarium shark diving.
The shark dive is in the 2.2 million liter tank at the “Melbourne Aquarium”, where
you can see Grey Nurse Sharks and Gill Sharks, Port Jackson Sharks and Gummy Sharks
(as well as Sting Rays and a whole myriad of other marine life).
You can do the shark dive whether you are a certified scuba diver or not.
As a non-scuba diver your day will start with a scuba diving theory session. Then
it is off to the local pool and time to put your theory into practice with an hour
pool session where you will experience the underwater environment for the first
time.
If you are a certified scuba diver, you will just skip the pool practice.

Shark diving in Melbourne at the Melbourne Aquarium
The shark diving itself will last for 30 minutes. The highlight of this adventure
is without doubt having the 3.6 meter Grey Nurse Shark loom over you within arms
reach.
Family and friends can watch from the safety of the 110 meter acrylic tunnel as
the tour guides inform them of what is happening.
To do the shark scuba dive at Melbourne Aquarium, you have to be at least 15 years old
and in normal health.
The price for non-scuba divers is AUD $349, while it is AUD $242 for scuba divers. Included
in the price are the diving, all necessary scuba diving equipment and a certificate.
You can book the dive trough the very popular Australian “Action-company” called
Adrenalin.
