Shark diving, Bahamas

Shark diving in Bahamas is a unique opportunity to observe sharks at close range in their natural environment.

You can find sharks in almost every part of The Bahamas. Shark diving and swimming here does not have to be on a specific location.

Which kinds of shark do you want to see on a shark dive?

Bahamas has all the “exciting” sharks: Tiger Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Blue Sharks, Caribbean Reef Sharks and Lemon Sharks.

You can even scuba dive with those dangerous shark species without a cage (if you dare).

You do not have to be a certified scuba diver to do a Bahamas shark dive. You can also encounter sharks on a snorkeling trip (read more below).

Shark feeding (which is illegal in Florida) is also possible on shark dives. Bahamas has it all.

Nassau Snorkel Bahamas Adventure

Have you ever wanted to snorkel with sharks? On the much recommended “Nassau Snorkel Bahamas Adventure”-trip it is possible.

After you have snorkeled through an undersea of living coral, tropical marine life and above a ship wreck, you will be taken to a place, where sharks swim calmly below you. If this seems a little to thrilling to you, you can also see the sharks being fed from the boat.

The price for the five hour trip is only $48 – including round trip hotel transfers, fresh drinking water and ice, mask, fins, snorkel and snorkel vest.

Comments from the satisfied customers:

“The snorkelling was OK but the shark part was an once-in-a-lifetime experience. We viewed at least 30 sharks as they swam around the bait box below us, then after we got out of the water, they were fed from the boat.” (Don R, United States)

“It was my first snorkel adventure and I was nervous at the first stop but then I got over it by second stop and really enjoyed myself. The last stop was my first time to swim with the sharks. It was great.” (Paul S, United States)

“The crew on the boat were very informative and helpful. We're so lucky for seeing dolphins 3 times during a half day trip. Not an ordinary snorkel at all!” (Aubrey T, United States)

“The best part was snorkelling with the sharks. What an experience!!!! Don't pass it up.” (Candice W, United States)

Nassau Shark Adventure

If you are a certified scuba diver and you like to scuba dive instead of snorkel, you should do a “Nassau Shark Adventure” scuba dive trip.

The Nassau Shark Adventure is a two-tank scuba dive which introduces you to the thrill of scuba diving with sharks.

Your first scuba dive is a “Free Swim” wall dive. The sharks will follow you throughout the dive because you will be close to the feeding site – and they know the dinner time is soon!

However, no bait is exposed on this dive. This keeps the sharks curious and creates a very natural encounter – just as you would encounter a shark in the wild.

The second scuba dive is a shark-feeding dive. On this dive you will spend your time kneeling on the sand bottom, where a professional shark feeder will place a bait box.

The release of food will be controlled to influences the shark's behaviour, but even though the sharks are more interested in the bait than you, they will come very close. So this is not a dive for the faint-hearted.

The price for the two-tank scuba dive is $140 – including round trip hotel transfers, fresh drinking water and ice, tanks, weights and weight belts (other scuba equipment is not included but can be rented).
